- I will beta one piece of writing for you, long fics welcome!! (but note that will take more time). WIPs or completed fics are both fine. As far as my 'do not want' list, the only difference for beta services is sad endings (as in, I will beta a work with a sad ending).
I can help you with: pacing, flow, character actions (including blocking/positions in space), dialogue, cohesion, describing feelings/emotions, word choice, as well as fact/context checking in certain areas (see list below). I will give feedback about spelling/grammar/punctuation if desired (but it will take longer). I like to provide comments and suggestions as I read with longer comments at the bottom.
Please message me if you want to make sure I can provide the services you need! I want you to get beta services that you need for your work. I have mostly listed MCU and other movie-verses because that is where I have the most familiarity. I have read a lot of the comics (particularly 616) but I can't guarantee as much knowledge of canon for that.
My particular areas of knowledge for fact/context checking and AUs:
- Academia (and linguistics)
- Specific decades (80s, 90s, 00s, 10s) (particularly in the US)
- Sewing, quilting, knitting
- Sports (professional, journalism, reporting, etc., particularly for football, hockey, baseball, cycling)
- Russian (language, culture, literature)
Just a note that since I offered this last year I've gotten a new job, and I basically can't respond much during work hours (ET). But evenings and weekends are fine. I am confident that I can complete this in the next year, but the longer the fic the longer I'll need. Last year I beta-ed History of American Capitalism by ZenaidaMacrouras1 (with a particular focus on sports and Russian stuff) and it was super fun!
